I can't believe it has already been 6 months since I photographed Selah's entrance in to the world.  I also can't believe I haven't shared more than the sneak peek images with you all until now.  Capturing her birth was one of the highlights for me in 2013.

Selah was welcomed in to a family with two big brothers so when discussing birth photography with her mom we also discussed her previous pregnancies and labors thinking that her third baby would fall in line with her brothers.  Well boy were we wrong!  Selah came almost a month early and took her sweet sweet time before making her grand entrance in to the world.  I remember sitting at my computer on a Friday night editing away when I get a text from her mom that her water had just broke.  I read that text over and over before responding to make sure I had read it correctly as we were roughly 3.5 weeks out from her due date.  I sent a text back to ensure everything was okay and to let me know once they left for the hospital as their birth plan was to labor at home as much as possible; however, that was the problem...although her mom's water had broken she still wasn't in labor!  Friday night passed with little sleep as I was frantically checking my phone so scared I was going to miss "the call" from her mom.  Then came Saturday and still NO LABOR!!!!  Finally Saturday night the decision was made to go to the hospital to start the labor process.  I finally received "the call" in the wee hours of Sunday morning and headed over to hospital to capture Selah's grand entrance to the world just before sunrise on Sunday, September 8th.

Selah's mom was able to labor with out the assistance of pain medicine and labored with more grace than I thought possible.  Selah's parents were so in tune with each other through out the labor that there was very little verbal communication yet they moved in to different laboring positions together with such ease.  They were so connected through out the labor and you could tell her parents are truly a team.

I hope you all enjoy viewing these images from Selah's birth as much as I enjoyed having the opportunity to capture this special time for her family.
